Grazin’ In The Dusk w/Bonolo Mafoyane 30.11.2020

Grazin' in the Dusk w/Bonolo Mafoyane  |  6 Dec 2020

Bonolo Mafoyane returns with the third installment of her monthly Grazin’ in the Dusk show, which is a tributary show paying homage/tribute to one artist per instalment, and today’s artist of honour is indigenous classical instrumentalist hailing from pretoria, Mr Tlokwe Sehume, a renegade in his own right, and a crafty master at expressing some of the most radical ideas on blackness and africanism in his music, which he defines as Mmino wa Thaba (Music of the Mountains).
“For this show, I’ve put together an interesting sonic collage of cultural and political expressions merging them with music that speaks to these expressions, a playlist of Malopo, Kiba music, as well as mountain (veld) rhythms by other musicians including Bhudaza, Lefifi Tladi, Tumpu, Thabang Tabane, Mabi Gabriel Thobejane, Azah, Pops Mohammed.”
