Ralph Borland is back for this months edition of Something Else. The theme for this one is Locked Groove. At 33rpm, the sound is less than two seconds long, looping infinitely. Sound and music play with our perception, as our awareness shifts in response to it. Tonight’s edition of Something Else will showcase a number of actual locked grooves, as well as heavily loop-based and repetitive electronic sounds from the worlds of techno, electro and hip hop. Most music is based on repetition – the rest, as they say, is noise – but this is some next-level shit.
